(Platinum) was incorporated in the State of California in December of 1997 with the goal of becoming a national sales and distribution company. Thirteen years later Platinum is proud to support over 3,000 retail doors throughout the entire US. Hands-on support of our distribution partners coupled with an aggressive approach to adding new, profitable products allowed Platinum to become a $100 Million Company. Today we remain focused on consistently adding new distribution in multiple markets. Further, In order to insure our partners are successful we remain equally focused on bringing new, profitable products to their locations.
Platinum's growth is a result of focused organic efforts in conjunction with an aggressive acquisition strategy. In July 1998, Platinum launched its entry into the marketplace as a Nextel Authorized Representative and within 12 months became the number one Nextel AR in Nextel's largest market - the Los Angeles Metroplex. Platinum achieved this honor again in 1999, 2000, and 2001. In 2002, the Company became a Nextel National Authorized Representative (NAR) and opened locations in San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas. Upon becoming a national dealer, Platinum upgraded its status to a "Master Dealership", leading the way for Platinum to aggressively acquire distribution partners across the US.
In 2004, Platinum added Boost Mobile to its product line. In 2005, with the merger of Sprint and Nextel, Platinum became a National Master Agent for Sprint, Nextel and Boost Mobile products and services. In 2006, Platinum doubled its business for the third consecutive year. Below are a few examples that led to Platinum's continued growth:
Platinum was the fastest growing Sprint national authorized dealer in the country in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, Platinum acquired American Connections of Southern California giving it the infrastructure needed to expand its wholesale distribution. In 2007, Platinum merged with Simplicity Wireless giving it the infrastructure to add PayGo prepaid terminals to its product line. Finally, in 2009, Platinum acquired one of Sprints largest "branded" partners, MMM Wireless.
For six consecutive years the Los Angeles Business Journal has recognized Platinum as one of "Los Angeles' Fastest Growing Privately Held Businesses" and for the 3rd consecutive year one of the "20 Largest Telecommunication Firms in Los Angeles."
The Company is expecting strong growth over the next few years and will be focusing on expanding its network of distribution of independently owned retailers as well as expanding into national retailers and chain stores. In addition, Platinum has and will continue its expansion by adding new products and services to its current portfolio. Platinum's goal is to expand into additional markets in an organized and controlled method and continue its growth. Platinum' corporate office is based out of Los Angeles, CA and has distribution warehouses in CA, CO and MI.
